2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for so many. As we look to move into 2021, Africa Hope Mission has made the difficult decision to end our time as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. While this was not an easy decision, we know it is the right one. Each and every one of us have enjoyed this journey an we all remain deeply committed to the people in Zambia. We all still plan to be a part of that world and continue our work there. But our lives have all taken different turns and it's time to say goodbye to AHM as an organization.
We had a gala planned for this past June and made the decision to cancel it due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as we'd hoped that we'd be able to properly thank you all in person. While that won't be possible, we wanted to share some exciting news with you. As part of our farewell push to the finish, we are looking to raise a final $10,000 in order to complete the Hudaga Family Care Center. The center needs a boys' dorm and classrooms for four grade levels. Between our Board and other private donors, we have an opportunity for a 1:1 match through the end of this calendar year. That's right: for every dollar you donate, it will be matched up to $10,000. If our AHM community can raise $10,000 in the next 4 weeks, we will be able to provide $20,000 to the Hudaga Care Center which will truly be life-changing for the children in the Samfya Community.
We cannot thank you enough for your support over the year. Saying goodbye is hard but we are SO PROUD of all the work that has been done, thanks to you! If you'd like to make a fully tax-deductible donation, you can do so by sending a check made out to Africa Hope Mission and send to 25515 Warwick Rd., Tower Lakes, IL, 60010.
With love and thanks, Mike Marschke, Jordan Anderson, Mary Lenling, and Mark Shircel
